Electrolysis Tip

HydrateHydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
Drinking plenty of water helps unwanted hair slide right out.

Did you Know?

Electrology is the only hair removal method recognized as permanent by the FDA.

Did you know?

Gently exfoliating your skin before your treatment opens up the follicles and lets the unwanted hair slide out more easily.

Did you know?

The hair you see is not all the hair you have. Hair grows in cycles. That's why it takes more than one appointment to permanently clear an area.

Electrolysis Tip

Clean skin releases unwanted hair more easily. Remove your makeup before your appointment, Remove makeup prior to your electrolysis appointment.so the hair follicles are clean and accessible.

Did you know?

If your electrologist can't see the hairs, they can't zap the hairs. Plucking, waxing, threading, or tweezing before your hair removal appointment reduces the number of hairs your electrologist can remove.

Electrolysis Tip

Talk to your electrologist about any questions or concerns. We want your experience to be as comfortable and effective as possible.

Electrolysis Tip

It's okay to shave between treatments, but never, ever tweeze!

Never tweeze between treatments.

As a young woman in my late teens and early twenties, I had unwanted hair on my chin. I tried tweezing, bleaching, depilatory creams and waxing - of course nothing worked! The hairs just kept coming back and were getting darker and more coarse as time went by. At the suggestion of my mother, I began weekly electrolysis treatments in 1982 with Lady M of London.

Once my chin hair problem was solved, I moved on to my upper lip and eyebrows. The self confidence that grew from knowing I didn't have any unwanted hair on my face was amazing. After my face was under control, I moved on to my bikini line and the back of my thighs.

I kept regular appointments with the intervals between appointments growing longer and longer. Finally, in early 2007 when I was in for some clean up, Lady M asked me if I would be interested in training to become an electrologist. I can honestly say that it had never crossed my mind. At the time I had been a stay-at-home mother with our young son and was about to return to work part-time. I began my training to become an electrologist while working part-time at another job, and on October 31, 2008 I completed the 300 hour course of training from Lady M of London.

Since completing training, I have been building my electrolysis client base. In October of 2010, I sat for and passed the Certified Professional Electrolysis (CPE) exam. This is a national exam and designation evidencing my educational proficiency in the standards of the profession of electrolysis.

About Robin Shepherd, CPE

Robin Shepherd, CPE - ElectrologistAs a young girl, I can remember using tweezers to pluck my mother’s chin hairs. It would take me at least two hours to get it all done, but I never mind because that was my mother’s and my time to talk and be girls together. As I would work on her, I would often think, “I sure hope that I don’t have this problem.” To my dismay, as soon as puberty hit, I started having unwanted hairs everywhere! My mother would often tell me not to shave, because the shaving had made it worse, so I should just pluck them. That begin what seemed like a life-long affair with tweezing. I would have to have tweezers in every purse, backpack, and car before I could go anywhere. I was so embarrassed and often felt paralyze with fear everyone could see my problem. As time went on, the problem became worse and I tried other methods such as waxing, cream depilatories and laser, all to no avail. After all of that, I began to believe that I would be hairy forever!

One Thanksgiving, I came home to visit my parents and saw my mother’s face, it was clear and she had no bumps. I asked her, “What are you doing and why didn’t you tell me?” She stated that she was doing electrolysis and had been going for the last 9 months. Her skin was so pretty, I was very impressed because I remember how her chin looked for all those years. At that point, I was hooked! I called for an appointment with Electrolysis by Whitney immediately. I kept regular appointments and as time went on there was greater intervals between. Because of my history, I was always asking questions about the process and one day Whitney asked if I wanted to be trained and I said yes. I began training in 2011 while still getting treatment. This was an easy match for me because I believe so much in the process. I was able to see first-hand how so many lives were changed by electrolysis. In 2014, I sat and passed the Certified Professional Electrolysis exam. I have been working at Fort Worth Electrolysis first part-time and for the last 2 years full-time. I love what I do and enjoy touching the lives of my clients.

About Helen Hanson Janneck

Helen Hansen Janneck - ElectrologistI graduated from Loyola University in New Orleans in 1974 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.  In 1982, I attended Romero's School of Electrolysis completing the 600-hour course.

After graduating from Romero’s School of Electrolysis, I started “Uptown Electrolysis” in New Orleans, Louisiana and practiced there from 1982-2001.  I passed the first state board of electrology exam given in Louisiana in 1984.  While practicing in Louisiana, I was a member of the Regional Electrologists Association of Louisiana (REAL).

In 2001, my family moved to Madison, Mississippi.  In Madison, I began another electrology practice called "Electrolysis of Madison County."  I owned Electrolysis of Madison County from 2001-2010.

In 2010 my family moved to Fort Worth, Texas.  After starting two successful electrology practices, when we moved to Fort Worth I didn’t want to start all over again.  In 2013 Whitney Harwell and I decided to office together when she started Fort Worth Electrolysis after acquiring the assets of Lady M of London.

I have been a member of the American Electrology Association since 1982.   I have also passed the CPE exam given by the American Electrology Association, but this certification needs to be updated.

My husband Fred Janneck and I have been married since 1983.  We have one son, Freddie, who is 25 years old.
