As a young girl, I can remember using tweezers to pluck my mother’s chin hairs. It would take me at least two hours to get it all done, but I never mind because that was my mother’s and my time to talk and be girls together. As I would work on her, I would often think, “I sure hope that I don’t have this problem.” To my dismay, as soon as puberty hit, I started having unwanted hairs everywhere! My mother would often tell me not to shave, because the shaving had made it worse, so I should just pluck them. That begin what seemed like a life-long affair with tweezing. I would have to have tweezers in every purse, backpack, and car before I could go anywhere. I was so embarrassed and often felt paralyze with fear everyone could see my problem. As time went on, the problem became worse and I tried other methods such as waxing, cream depilatories and laser, all to no avail. After all of that, I began to believe that I would be hairy forever!

One Thanksgiving, I came home to visit my parents and saw my mother’s face, it was clear and she had no bumps. I asked her, “What are you doing and why didn’t you tell me?” She stated that she was doing electrolysis and had been going for the last 9 months. Her skin was so pretty, I was very impressed because I remember how her chin looked for all those years. At that point, I was hooked! I called for an appointment with Electrolysis by Whitney immediately. I kept regular appointments and as time went on there was greater intervals between. Because of my history, I was always asking questions about the process and one day Whitney asked if I wanted to be trained and I said yes. I began training in 2011 while still getting treatment. This was an easy match for me because I believe so much in the process. I was able to see first-hand how so many lives were changed by electrolysis. In 2014, I sat and passed the Certified Professional Electrolysis exam. I have been working at Fort Worth Electrolysis first part-time and for the last 2 years full-time. I love what I do and enjoy touching the lives of my clients.
